Diggin' in the Cybercrates: Internet Samples, Volume 5

On the regular, Hip Hapa hooks you into the sites and sounds of the virtual world, offering up samples to help you make the perfect mix of your netsurfing. If you find a gem that needs inclusion, let us know and we'll post it.

Mark your calendars for October 14, when the Mind Power Collective and Teachers 4 Social Justice get together at the Poleng Lounge in San Francisco for a night of “dinner, drinks and soulful beats” meant to help “continue building a movement through strong community.”

Or if you’re on the other side of the country, drop in on the Museum of the City of New York and “explore how black style has evolved in New York City and how the hip-hop revolution has turned fashion on its head.”

Something else our east coast reps want you to know about: "One Way or Another: Asian American Art Now” at the Asia Society. We’re efforting our own coverage right now, but until then you can read about it here.

Fresh from the Kearney Street Workshop’s 8th Annual APAture festival… introducing the next big thing in hapa film.

And finally, one of my roommates achieves Internet fame here (congratulations, George).
